Hinch 5yo Double Wood

A five year old expression from Hinch Distillery, Double Wood gives a hint to its maturation in the name. The Irish whiskey is made from a blend of both grain and malt whiskeys, and it's initially aged in bourbon casks with a 12 month finish in virgin American oak barrels. Forget double trouble, this double wood is double good. (Sorry.)

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Reviews for Hinch 5 Year Old Double Wood
Vanilla to the fore
Sweet, creamy and light.
Not particularly complex, in fact not complex at all but very enjoyable.
An easy introduction to Irish whiskey I think.

Liked it
Just took a sip from this whiskey, really enjoyable. I would say it's an Irish whiskey with a Scottish twist.

Young, light and vanilla
Another great whiskey from the new distillery. Hinch continue to impress with their opening range of whiskeys. These are young whiskeys and so don’t have the depth of older whiskeys but that shouldn’t put anyone off. The Double Wood has the lightness and smooth vanilla notes. Look forward to trying more of their whiskeys and definitely a distillery to watch for the future.

Hard to go wrong with Hinch
Creamy, sweet honey / caramel, and oh so spicy on the beach. Great flavour profile.
