Another Viking Legend has arrived from Highland Park! The second release in the series created in partnership with Danish designer Jim Lyngvild is Valknut. The spirit used for this single malt features a small portion of Orkney-grown Tartan barley, and was matured predominantly in American oak sherry seasoned casks. Slightly smokier than your standard Highland Park whisky, so if you like a peaty treat, you've found a great option right here.
Warming peat smoke rises, paired with fresh vanilla, thyme honey and sandalwood.
Toasted barley and fennel seed, with a kick of cinnamon underneath.
Flamed orange peel, a very light touch of BBQ char, gingerbread and nutmeg.

Loving this. Sherry, oak vanilla with a smokey spicy finish. A very well balanced and complex Whisky.
Yet to try it....but I will forever be a lover of Highland Park.....have been for years...introduced to this, the king of Malt Whisky, through the pages of The late Michael Jackson's books.
I received a bottle of this 21062020... I can and will say this, absolutely bloody amazing. I'm not a posh twat who goes on about notes and cherries and vanilla etc, I'm a normal dude that likes Whisky. This is not Laphroig peaty, its peaty, ish. Is it enjoyable to drink? Yes, yes it is. Would I have it again? Yes, I would. Tt2020.

Peatier than typical HP but not medicinal peat like Islay malts. A decent variation of HP. Worth a try.
