Highland Park Svein (Warrior Series)

Highland Park Svein Bottling Note

Svein comes from Highland Park's Warrior series, which was released for the travel retail market. It's named after a legendary Viking leader known for his fiery temper but also for his boundless hospitality. The whisky is matured predominately in ex-American oak casks, which has resulted in plenty of orange oil, vanilla, caramel and peppery oak, along with plenty of smoke.

Highland Park Svein (Warrior Series) Reviews

Nice and easy to drink

I'm not the greatest at tasting whisky but I get a big hit of smokey vanilla from this. Got it for £40 and it's a full litre bottle too so good value for money.!

Complex whisky, this is!

Those below who say the Svein is “bland” need to stop eating processed foods so they can enjoy the more complex flavors of single malts.
On the nose was toffee, raisins, a slight hint of cereal, and hay.
On the palate was American oak, mint, bitter chocolate and vanilla.
Smoke comes out on the long finish.
After a few drops of water, the smoke and vanilla become more prominent. Tongue remains smoky minutes later.

Great Malt for Any Occasion

A delightful discovery. The HP named after me (!), Svein, is one of the smoothest and most enjoyable malts I have tasted. Heed the Malt Master’s advice: “Sip don’t gulp” .

Младо whisky...

Малко повече торф от Glenlivet 12yo.

Bland

Extremely bland, not good at all. Harold is the first in the Warrior series that I can like.

Very good, smooth, vanilla. Desert whisky.

Easy drinking. Vanilla, smooth, light orange and excellent mouth feel. 40% alcohol and with the mild flavors it is a quality drink for beginners or long single malt lovers. Good for the price.

Great easy, yet complicated, scotch

Despite being a weakling who can only (in most cases) drink speyside scotches, this one here is complex but inviting and the peet doesn't hit hard or long.

A young spirit inspired by the old

A very fresh and youthful spirit. Bottled at 40 % ABV with no age statement on the package. Definitely sweet, fruity, honeyed aromas but with less complexity and peppery notes found in the HP 12 and HP 18 yr olds. Picked up a 1L bottle at the Duty Free for a very fair price. Enjoying a dram right now with a game of footy! Cheers mates.

Warrior series surprise

A subtle deluge of fruity notes with a delightful infusion of silky tannin from the American Oak! Uk meets North America here. Enjoy this dram but be aware it not Highland Park 12!
