Single Malt

Highland Park 17 Year Old (That Boutique-y Whisky Company)

Another installment from That Boutique-y Whisky Company, bottled for its End of the World series, which serves as a chilling reminder of the various forms of apocalypse that could befall humanity. This 17-year-old Highland Park single malt is a ticking time bomb of flavour and complexity. Brace yourselves for an unparalleled journey through time and taste as this dram emerges from the depths of a hogshead, only to be plunged into the embrace of a Pedro Ximenez sherry barrel.

The label features the iconic Doomsday Clock, a visual representation of impending doom, counting down to the final moments. With each sip, you are transported to the edge of oblivion, where the flavours dance like shadows in the dying embers of civilization. A prophecy in a bottle; a liquid time capsule, as you indulge in this extraordinary spirit, prepare to confront the existential angst of a world on the brink, savouring every drop as if it were the last before the final toll of the apocalyptic bell.

Batch 11 is a release of 480 bottles.

That Boutique-y Whisky Company bottles limited edition whiskies from a variety of renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blends, all adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels. The brand won Spirits Bottler of the Year at the 2023 Spirits Business Awards, and Blender of the Year went to Sam Simmons, captain of the Boutique-y clan who oversees every one of these releases.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose

Delicately sweet notes of candied citrus and pineapple join plump sultanas and vanilla, while woody smoke and pebbly minerality drift beneath.

Palate

Silky layers of caramel and fresh, juicy fruit with generous helpings of vanilla cream and charred heather.

Finish

Delicate, floral peat lingers for the finish, with creamy custard and spiced fruits in tow.
