Hyde 10 Year Old No. 1 President's Cask is limited edition single malt Irish whiskey, released by Hibernia Distillers. This expression takes its name from Douglas Hyde, who served as the first President of Ireland from 1938 to 1945. The whiskey comes from one Irish distillery (as we said, it's a single malt) and which was initially matured in bourbon barrels before enjoying a finishing period in first fill Oloroso Sherry casks. It's bottled at 46% ABV without chill filtration.

I was very disappointed with this whiskey. I would liken this to a cheap blended scotch. A really nasty finish and generally quite unrefined
Really quite a profound Irish whiskey. This has citrus marmalade cream soda and caramel. Scotch tablet on the palate with honey and apricot up front. This is smooth rich and complex. Lots of concentration smooth spirit with just a little bit of heat at the back from the 46%. Really very impressed - not often have I found Irish whiskey do anything like this.. Watch out Scotland - the Irish are coming....
