Single Malt
An 11 year old Glenrothes which has been bottled by Gordon & MacPhail for its Discovery bottling series. The series separates single malts into three categories, 'Sherry', 'Smoky' or 'Bourbon' to give an indication of its flavour profile. This is a wonderful sherried whisky, packed full of fruity and chocolatey notes.
Cinnamon butter, chocolate covered toffee and toasted malt, with sherried dried fruit and more baking spices.
Forest fruit jam on fresh toast, perhaps slightly burnt, with stewed orchard fruit and more cinnamon.
Orange peel, a hint of raisin and melted dark chocolate.
This is by far my most favourite whisky. It is smooth, sweet but leaves a hint of spiciness down the throat. Excellent choice for a drink at the end of the day.
A surprisingly smokey, fruity flavour, Christmas cake on the nose, with a warm, mulled finish....
