Part of Glenturret's 2020 Maiden Release, this whisky has spent 12 years in European oak, which is what you can thank for its flavour profile! It's suitably spicy and oily, with a good dose of orchard fruit bringing balance.
Toasted tea cake packed with raisin, along with cinnamon and oily toasted nuts.
Spiced, stewed apple, with candied ginger bringing warmth alongside waxy citrus peels.
Dry and spicy, full of toasty oak.
Outstanding, just had a whisky tasting and out off all this was my favourite. Hence the order.
