“Salty, smokiness with an aftertaste of citrus warmth. Perfect in front of a warming fire. For this price, it's well worth it.”

Description

This tremendous 10 year old single malt from The Glenturret combines a delicate balance of the distillery's peated and unpeated spirit. Matured in first and second fill European and American oak, it's robust and complex, and bottled up accordingly at a bold 50% ABV. Released as part of The Glenturret's 2021 collection.

Nose

Coastal bonfire, salty embers, flamed orange zest.

Palate

Rich, warming peat smoke and soft, aromatic spices with wafts of cinnamon and anise balanced by sweet salinity.

Finish

Ash and charred wood bring more smoky spice, following a touch of zesty citrus, and salted caramel.

A lovely dram for a great price

It's a lovely dram! Plenty going on, a great balance between the smoke, Christmas spices, caramel/vanilla and fruit notes and nothing offputting at all. Tried this as a sample and bought a bottle as a result.

Barry Chignell Nov 4, 2023

Exceptional dram for a reasonable price.

Love a peaty dram. Glenturret is often overlooked unfortunately. But this is an expensive tasting dram for a very reasonable price.
