Glenmorangie X Bottling Note

Glenmorangie X is a fab single malt from the legendary distillery in the Highlands which has been designed specifically for mixing! If whisky cocktails are you thing, this expression ought to be perfect for you. It does particularly well with the likes of elderflower cordial, sparkling apple juice, ginger beer, tonic water, cola... There are many possibilities here, and all are delicious! Also, its name makes it sound like it should be wearing a bright yellow costume and calling everyone "bub", and that's wonderful.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Honeyed malt with underlying lemon and apple, plus a touch of nutmeg bringing oaky warmth.

Palate: Lots of vanilla and apricot notes, with more apple coming along too. A hint of flaked almond later on.

Finish: The honeyed orchard fruit theme continues on the finish, with a pinch of peppercorn.

Glenmorangie X Reviews

delicious

As a big Glenmo fan I was unsure what to expect from X but this is a well balanced expression which works perfectly with mixers or in a cocktail - still with the quality you expect from the distillery.

It’s a no from me

I know it states it’s made for mixing but still, there’s nothing remotely complex about this whisky, it’s quite young and harsh. The sweetness is an attempt to cover up the lack of flavour. Mixed with full sugar carbonated drinks, this will give you a cavity. At the price point of £30 it’s a major turn off, when blends for half the price are more palatable. I wonder how long before this is quietly pulled from the shelves?
