Glenmorangie The Accord

Originally released for the Travel Retail market, The Accord from Glenmorangie is a 12 year old single malt matured in a combination of American oak bourbon casks and hand-selected Oloroso sherry casks. The whiskies are married together, created a well-balanced expression filled with juicy red berry notes and waves of warming butterscotch.

Reviews for Glenmorangie The Accord 12 Year Old
More complex than Lasanta
The Accord is in the way of Glenmorangie Lasanta, but a little bit less sweet and more complex, with some almond hints. Absolutely recomended who likes sherry cask whiskies

This could be top shelf if ...
Very aromatic on the nose, almost Macallan-like aromas with vanilla, sherry, dried fruits ( raisins, sultanas ) and marmelade on toast. The palate is very smooth and to the latter is added capucinno + milk chocolate. Balanced and complex whisky for 12 years. Why not make it non-coloured and NCF, it would be, at least for me, top shelf !

Rich and very, very satisfying.
This malt is way beyond its station. It has a very deep warmth and richness devoid of any harshness, but with that very special flavour of a malt that has been taken care of in Olorosso casking. It’s up there with some serious players. Just try it and be prepared to be surprised. Always leaves me going back to it.
