A beautifully packaged and now rather collectable 25-year-old from Glenmorangie. Quarter Century offers thick, dark fruits, with those tropical, malty tones. Superb.
This bottle was part of a private collection - if you'd like more detailed photos just get in touch!
Berry compote, crumble, hint of potpourri, almost floral, stewed plums. A mere hint of rancio? Perhaps.
Initially soft. Creamy, fruitcake, tropical fruit.
Long, very slight astringency. Oak, some fruit.

I have been enjoying nothing but Glen Morangie for a quarter century - the Original for the past couple of months when my supplier mistakenly got it for me instead of Nectar d'Or which I have been drinking for several years. Before Nectar d'Or, it was Maderia. My daughter sent me Glen Morangie 25 Year Old for my 70th birthday. I can't tell her that I didn't like it!!! I guess I will get used to it over the next 30 years.
LVMH is charging 260 GBP (incl VAT) at the distillery on Oct 2009. You might like this single malt but try to avoid the bitter taste of buying at high price. Rating 5 as I still wonder if it is serious or a joke from LVMH.
