Reviews for Kilkerran 12 Year Old
Worth a try
Smell is light smoky fruit and bready dense desert cakes, nutty like almonds and dates in there too. Sweet vanilla and sugary honey. On the tongue sweet honey fruitiness, salty and sweet fig and a salty aftertaste. Oily lasting feel

Interesting worth a punt
A well balanced malt with typical Campbeltown saltiness but with a lovely whiff of smokiness, excellent value

Under-rated, but how long for?
Good stuff, this.
Described as lightly peated but the peat certainly punches above its weight. Makes way for the citrus but stays long enough to enjoy without overstating itself. Excellent value for money. Would recommend to anyone who likes their malt peated.

Phenomenal
This is easily one of, if not the best whisky I’ve drunk this year, and at £36 a pop that is serious bang for buck. This whisky isn’t just a great affordable, “available” whisky, it more than holds its own against any whisky full stop. Tasting is citrus, lots of fresh lemon on nose and palate becoming beautifully sour through the finish. There’s some hay, espresso beans and cherries (glacé) on the nose, with savoury cereals on the palate. There’s also a slight salinity on the palate, becoming more accented through the finish. All of this is complimented by perfectly balanced peat. This whisky really is sublime. If you are new to whisky and have tried the standards, Glenfiddich, Glenmorangie, HP 12, laga 16 etc., this will really take your experience to another level. Cannot recommend more highly.

Gorgeous combination of my favourite food and fruit flavours.
My first Campbeltown whisky taken in Campbeltown for my wedding anniversary. Superb. Helen Finnie
