The nose is rich and pungent. Notes of hot buttered toast, toffee and leather notes. There are hints of faint, distant smoke with cooked fruits, a little calvados and fruit salad with a touch of salinity as the smoke develops. The palate is full and rich with spice and pep. There are notes of dry oak and eucalyptus oil, herbal tones, a little Seville marmalade and fresh pain au chocolate and vanilla cream. The finish is long with marzipan and dry oak.
