An intriguing (and incredibly long-aged) single malt from Glenglassaugh, presented as part of their Rare Cask Release Batch 3. It was distilled in June 1975 and enjoyed a finishing period in a Sauternes hogshead before being bottled in November 2016. At 41 years of age, this is very special stuff indeed. Just 177 bottles were produced.
Nose: Hints of wild honey, white pepper spice, yellow pear, apricot preserve and barley sugars.
Palate: Caramelised orchard fruits, warm oak, cinnamon spice, grape skin and rich sweet barley.
