Glenglassaugh 40 Year Old 1972 - The Hunter (Woolf Sung)

Glenglassaugh 40yo 1972 Bottling Note

The first release from the Woolf Sung Collection is an incredibly attractive Glenglassaugh single malt, aged in a Sherry butt for 40 years - from December 1972 to January 2013. Just 160 bottles were produced by the wine and spirit merchants based in London.

Tasting Note by The Producer

Nose: An abundance of herbs, dried fruits and a hint of fresh black pepper. With time fresh apples give way to more robust Sherry notes and bitter chocolate.

Palate: Fresh apple and cinnamon, more black pepper and plenty of rich Sherry notes. Water brings zesty ginger and Seville orange marmalade leading to freshly roast coffee.

Finish: Spicy oak and malted barley contribute to a very long finish.
