Glenfiddich Malt Master's Edition - Sherry Cask Finish

Glenfiddich Malt Master's Bottling Note

The Glenfiddich Malt Master's Edition was named for the distillery's sixth Malt Master, Brian Kinsman, as he was their first Malt Master to double-mature Glenfiddich whisky in two different casks. This expression was initially matured in traditional oak casks, but was then finished for a number of years in Sherry casks to further develop the flavours, bringing warming fruitcake and gingerbread notes to the table.

Reviews for Glenfiddich Malt Master's Edition - Sherry Cask Finish
Very drinkable
I'm not usually a Glenfiddich drinker but this one looked interesting and it's honestly pretty good. I'm an Arberlour fan and this has similar qualities. The sherry is balanced with malty cereal and buttered toast. Fennel and burnt hops finish. Will certainly buy again.

Little gem
Currently overseas and fancied a dram without spending a fortune. Ended up stumbling across this little gem. Was very impressed. Great on the nose. Not overly sweet on the palate, but a nice sherry hit. Medium finish. Very enjoyable.

Good value
Hmm. I don't agree with reviewers saying this is sweeter than Solera. I have been sitting, sipping this, Solera and the 18yrs Small batch reserve for comparison.

The SBR has chocolate in spades. The Solera is beautifully balanced with ripe plum-duff and a hint of spice.

This MME is also well balanced, smooth, full-flavoured with chocolate, raisin, spice, citrus, vanilla and a lovely liquorice/pepper aftertaste.

Thank you.

A Scottish jewel
extremely drinkable, pleasant and very smooth. While I haven't tried many "fiddies" to date, this is the favourite for sure. Another Scottish jewel.

Very good for a NAS! Better than most of Glenfiddich's range and better than a lot of other NAS on the market. If you like a nice even sherried drop have one of this you won't be disappointed.

Woderful surprise
Great combination of fresh fruit and dried fruit sweetness, the sherry is there but it is not dominating making this a very balanced dram. A lovely long finish, where the sherry grows.

I love it and in my opinion slightly better than the Solera 15, the extra sweetness is just perfect! 5 stars. Buy it, you will empty the bottle pretty fast...
