Description

The delicious 8th release of 1968 Glenfarclas Family Cask. This was aged in a sherry hogshead (cask 179) and bottled in 2011. Really lovely, single cask, cask strength Speyside malt from George S Grant and team…

Nose

Stewed oranges and lemons seasoned with cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla.

Palate

Caramalised grapefruit peel and rich roasted malt surging over the palate in triumph.

Finish

A whisky of this age should not disappoint at this stage, and this is no exception. Long, complex and balanced.

Overall

A big whisky with intensely rich citrus flavours. There is a subtlety present that may be surprising for such a robust malt.
