A wonderfully sherried 15 year old dram from Glenfarclas, boasting oodles of dried fruit notes. It’s bottled at 46% ABV simply because this was the strength that George Grant’s grandfather preferred it at. Happily, this also results in the Speysider boasting a big, juicy, Christmas cake profile. A fabulously complex Scotch while also being easily drinkable.

Not a bad Scotch. Lacks a bit of flavour for my liking, tastes reminds me of a bourbon.
Just got this bottle and have been sampling it over the last few days. I am relatively new to the scotch scene but have so far really liked the sherried expressions. There was certainly a strong fruity nose to it which seemed different...bananas? Dates? The Christmas cake everyone seems to bring up I suppose - problem is I've never had Christmas cake so that has not been helpful. There is some citrusy note in the back too. Develops nicely in the finish where I taste some distant sweet tobacco. Since uncorking, it has opened up a bit. I am sticking with it - a nice dram for sure.
Having been appreciating good single malt whisky for many years I was interested when I was given a bottle of Glenfarclas 15 year old as a birthday present. What a disappointment! I don't know what they put in the bottle but it certainly wasn't 15 year old, good quality whisky! It tasted terrible either with ice or with water! After two drinks of this whatever it is I felt ill and had to hurry to the bathroom as the "whiskey" had a need to come back up! I have never in my life had a single malt scotch whiskey make me vomit! Needless to say I used the rest of the "whatever it was" to clean the sink with! Not worth rating.
