A wonderfully sherried 15 year old dram from Glenfarclas, boasting oodles of dried fruit notes. It’s bottled at 46% ABV simply because this was the strength that George Grant’s grandfather preferred it at. Happily, this also results in the Speysider boasting a big, juicy, Christmas cake profile. A fabulously complex Scotch while also being easily drinkable.
Intense, powerful sherry. Cream sherry, certainly – Pedro Ximenez? almost… a touch of peppermint? An almost rancio quality to this. Smells older than 15.
Raisins, more sherry, orange peel, walnuts, dates.
Incredibly long, complex, more of the walnuts again.
Water draws out sweetness. This is Christmas cake, not whisky. Simply astonishing.

Lovely golden color. Sherry, fruit, vanilla, old wood nose. Fruitcake, sweet spice, vanilla, sherry flavour. Long length, lingering and strong alcohol. Very moreish !
I really like Sherry Whiskies, and this hits the spot, without being over powered by the Sherry. I did find I needed to add quite a few drops of water, adding drop by drop, really brings out the finer parts of this Whisky. Kev Doncaster
Very nice. Sweet and spicy. Turmeric, cinnamon, allspice, dried fruits, Christmas cake, vanilla and Sherry. Will buy again.
Tried this for the first time, and wow. I'm impressed. For the money this is real nice. Full of flavour and texture. Sherry bomb, loads going on, strong finish. For the price tag this is such great value!
Coats the tounge beautifully with sherry and raisin notes. Finish long and very pleasant. At £50 a bottle this is a absolute steal!
