A delicious, richly sherried Glenfarclas aged for 17 years and launched for the travel retail market. Loads of character and depth, just what we've come to expect from the distillery.
This bottle was part of a private collection - if you'd like more detailed photos just get in touch!
Complex and sophisticated, notes of buttery toffee, malt sherried peels, dates and even a hint of peat!
Full-bodied and rich, it fills and coats the palate with warming nutmeg, sherried fruits, cinnamon and mixed peels.
Long, spicy and sweet with just a hint of smoke on the tail.

Rich, round and full. Incredibly long. An hour after it felt as though I had been eating "Fantails" (chocolate caramels) all afternoon. Smoking is a health hazard ;-). If you are tired of smoke, try this.
I've had a bottle of this in the cabinet since Christmas and decided to let it sit. I find Glenfarclas becomes spectacular after opening for seveal months. If you can wait this long you will be more than impressed. Nose-is still Sherried but the toffee is more pronounced. Palate-Butterscotch ripple Ice cream with caramel drizzle followed by praline, hazelnuts and of course sherry notes. Finish- You are left with a nutty, dry, satisfying sherried dram. Absolutely fantastic dram but should you give it time it becomes phenomenal;)
This is an exceptional whisky. Open from Scotland is superior to the export but both are delightful. Of the 100 bottles of single malt I have this is by far my favourite.
Prior to buying a bottle of Glenfarclas 17, the only whisky from this distillery I had tried was the 30yo (thanks to my very generous uncle). The 17 is a splendid dram. It is an explosion of sweetness and sherried fruit. extremely complex. Christmas cake and caramel flavours kick you in the face in a great way.
Satisfies the palate extremely well and an all around single malt
