Lots of sherry and fruit in this, Glenfarclas 12 was originally bottled for export and travel retail markets. In 2006, it was named the "Best Sherried Whisky" in the Single Malt World Cup, and in 2007 and 2008 it won Gold at the Stockholm Beer and Whisky Festival.
Nose: Light and creamy with a mix of supple, soft sherry and Manuka honey. Gentle and well-balanced, there are hints of smoke, rich oak, and a little pine resin.
Palate: Medium-bodied, with notes of date and walnut cake, Oloroso sherry and hints of earthy forest floor. A beautiful note of malt, with toffee apple and a touch of smoke.
Finish: Spicy and long, notes of allspice, cinnamon and cloves, with orange zest and sherry.

Battling it against the Highland 12 Viking...Glenfarclas pulls ahead in its complex finish...tasty, less bitter and keeps coming on. Its the real deal...

Below post *Had to be a bad bottle. This is balanced scotch rich dates, sherry and ginger finish. Very underrated.

I received a bottle recently for my birthday. Quite possibly the worst Scotch I’ve ever tasted. No flavor, nasty alcohol taste, like drinking rubbing alcohol. Perhaps the bottle was spoiled, but the one I have is undrinkable.

The first seriously sulphured bottle of whisky I have bought and it is off-putting. Shame as I love the overall style of this malt. Would probably give another bottle a go:

A lot of whisky for a reasonable amount of money! Dried plum, mint, cloves, toffee, nutmeg... and a touch of english tea and lemon zest on the finish. One of the whiskies you can always find on my shelf.

Great full flavoured Sherry whiskey! Nice creamy palate and smooth after finish.

Cracking whisky. Just buy it.Glenfarclas is probably my favourite “unpeated” distillers, they have never disappointed in providing a first class product, full of flavour.105, 15, 18, 21 and 25 all better but in relation to the price they are all stunning value.I say it again, thank you glenfarclas! I will always have a glenfarclas on the go in the collection.

Recently purchased the Glendronach 12 and the Glenfarclas 12. Glendronach is by far the better of the two.

I'm a huge fan of Glenfarclas but this 12 seems to rather basic. It is a decent daily sipper but I would rather spend the extra and drink the 15 year old. The 12 has has the ABV but it just seems dull compared to other 12s. The Glendronach 12 is a much better dram. Get the Glenfarcas 15 (personal favourite) or the 25. As for tasting notes the MoM description is on point.
