GlenDronach introduced this 19 year old single malt Scotch whisky finished in Madeira wine casks in the latter half of 2015. It was initially matured in European oak casks before being transferred over to hogshead casks which had previously held Madeira wine.
Ripe gooseberry and green apple, though with a lingering element of spice.
Golden barley sets the stage for lots of citrus, sliced apple, flaky pastries and sparks of cinnamon and ginger.
More orange segments with a hint of red berry juice developing.
Smooth to the palate went down like no other whisky I have tried
This is a well-rounded dram that is packed with fruits and spice. Notably different than the core GlenDronachs. Definitely worth checking out if you happen to come across one.
Dried raisins, peach, mint, granny smith apple pie, refrained sherry, wafts of Pall Mall menthol right after you've decided to quit smoking. A vibrant Glendronach that is just right for self-medicating any time of day - absolutely wonderful stuff!
