“Wow, just a wonderful nose. Complex with layers of fresh and dried fruits, a touch of sweet citrus. On the palate you find the same balanced combo of fresh and dried fruits, I get the dark chocolate and the spicy sweetness, but not the banana. The finish starts off lovely, but becomes a bit astringent (which is the only thing keeping it from full marks).”

Description
The oldest of three whiskies released by GlenAllachie in mid-2019, each of having been finished in different types of cask. The 12 year old expression began ageing in American oak barrels, where it slumbered for 10 years, before being moved over to Pedro Ximénez sherry casks for the rest of its maturation. Oodles of classic sherried deliciousness to dig in to here, pairing handsomely with GlenAllachie's top-notch spirit.
