Glen Spey 24 Year Old 1994 (cask 2139) - Celebration Of The Cask (Càrn Mòr)
Distilled at Glen Spey on 9 June 1994, this single malt then rested in a sherry hogshead for nearly a quarter of a century. When the whisky was 24 years of age, on 29 April 2019 it was bottled by Càrn Mòr for the Celebration of the Cask range. The hogshead yielded only 230 bottles at cask strength, a warming 59.7% ABV.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Dusty oak, a hint of menthol, orange marmalade on fresh toast with lots of dried fruit.
Palate
Gentle notes of apricot jam develop into lots of dark red berries accompanied by melted white chocolate, with more dried fruit in support.
Finish
Crystallised ginger, fruity sherry and orange peel, with a hint of dark chocolate.
