Glen Scotia Victoriana Bottling Note

A 2015 release from Glen Scotia's new (redesigned) range, Victoriana is made with whisky drawn from casks specially selected by their master blender, finished in heavily charred oak casks and bottled at 51.5% ABV.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Elegantly oak-y, with notes of toasty sugar and citrus peels.

Palate: More fruit forward on the nose, with dark berry juiciness at its core.

Finish: Orchard fruits dusted with dark chocolate.

Glen Scotia Victoriana Reviews

Grab it.

A bargain (well in Aus anyway). Yet another delicious drink from perhaps Scotland’s hardest to get to, but ultimately rewarding area, Campbeltown. Definitely needs water and time, but don’t we all. Enjoy.

Great, but some batch variation

I have ordered 3 bottles of this, the first two were fantastic, the third had those heavy notes of gin; very disappointed with the 3rd bottle(and surprised by the significant batch variation). However, a fine whisky when it "on."

Very disappointed

Definetly not a bad whisky but for price paid I was not blown away, maybe that’s what Victorian era whisky was like. Anyway I kind of expected to be wowed but wasn’t.

fantastic nose, consistent to a long finish

Very enjoyable. I add a splash of water.

great nose - lightly smoked raisins and cherries, hint of orange. This is the best part of the whisky. Fantastic.
taste - consistent vanilla, caramel, raisins with a bit of smoke.
finish - long, but pretty simple for me. Cherries, vanilla, and a bit of leather.

Lovely and consistent throughout.

A lovely malt.

Dark fruits, cherry, currents, figs, raisins and sultanas. Black and red cherries mix beautifully with citrus fruits. Caramel and vanilla along with a little smoke aroma from syringol aldehyde released in the charred American white oak.
A really well balanced and varied flavour malt.

victory

Well formed whisky. Drinkable at full strength but holds up with water. Caramel and dark fruit are prominent, complementary peaty backdrop.

The most "unique" nose palate, very special.

Wonderful. Oak, black cherry, a very aromatic nose, citrus. chocolate, long finish.
Will be getting another bottle or two, this caught me be surprise, truly different than any single malt I've had, did I say wonderful !!

Glen Scotia, Victoriana

This one is very special. The history in this bottle really takes us all by surprise, Victoriana is exceptionally rare. Malt Master, John Peterson, hand selected casks from the reserve cellar, each chosen for their rare characteristics and exceptional maturity. Finished in the finest deep charred oak, the result is an exceptionally smooth Single Malt Scotch Whisky where aroma and flavour work in harmony. Bottled in the traditional way, straight form the cask and without chill filtration.
