Glen Scotia Victoriana

A 2015 release from Glen Scotia's new (redesigned) range, Victoriana is made with whisky drawn from casks specially selected by their master blender, finished in heavily charred oak casks and bottled at 51.5% ABV.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Elegantly oak-y, with notes of toasty sugar and citrus peels.

Palate More fruit forward on the nose, with dark berry juiciness at its core.

Finish Orchard fruits dusted with dark chocolate.

A very flavourful type of methylated spirits, especially good at removing blood stains from bed sheets.

Continues to impress
I continue to mix this with coke and get smashed on it. You must use quality cola otherwise it’s all a bit of a waste. Home brand dry ginger is also acceptable.

It tastes like your favourite music, obeys your moods and gives a shining polish over them.
Price and quality comes hand in hand. This whiskey exceeded my personal expectations by far and they were set to high. I welcome this to my collection.

It is quite a puzzle for your nose, perhaps a bit aggressive but it will mellow down on palate and finish, hint of vanilla and smokiness. Very balanced and extremely enjoyable. A welcoming challenge to my tastebuds

A rich, enjoyable high end whisky, worth £65+ but possibly not 80.
Rich, fruity, complex, smooth, long lasting finish. Our whisky group bought this and was not upset- except the peat lover.

Nice addition but pricey
Very nice nose. Water makes this one open up for a more pleasant finish. Nice companion to 15 yr., doesn’t have the smoke I expected (51.5% batch may be the diff).

Straight from the off, its sherry, high quality fruity sublime sherry. WoW.
Its important to let it sit in the glass for a good while, this baby needs to breathe, you WILL be rewarded!

Maple syrup
Just tried batch #001, which can't be this one since batch 001 is bottled at 54,8%, but since I've already started I'll finish the review: Maple syrup, it tastes like maple syrup. Diggin it.
