Glen Scotia
Scotland
Single Malt

Glen Scotia's Victoriana sees the Campbeltown distillery's single malt drawn from casks with a particularly heavy char profile, imparting plenty of rich, roasty-toasty notes. This, however, is the Victoriana Cask Strength expression. It's obvious what the difference here is - it's bottled at cask strength, a robust 54.2% ABV, which helps bolster those aforementioned roasty-toasty notes.
Elegantly oak-y, with notes of toasty sugar and citrus peels.
More fruit forward on the nose, with dark berry juiciness at its core.
Orchard fruits dusted with dark chocolate.

Top marks for mouth feel, balance, flavor profile, strength and... Isn't this enough? Great at 54%, but better with a couple of drops of water
Previously voted OWSA's whisky of the year (2022) it had been on my shopping list. Better for leaving 20 mins in the glass to open up. A superb, complex whisky with lovely toffee, fudgy notes, woody, juicy and slightly bitter on the palate. A long and satisfying finish. I gave it 93 / 100
To be honest, I found Glen Scotia's other releases underwhelming, but the reviews on this demanded I try a dram. It's 54% and the extra concentration of flavour sure helps with this. It has depth and and a bit of richness, but nothing else to justify the price for me
Chaps, here we are talking about another level of spirit. Top in every aspect. Nose, taste, aftertaste... Words are just not enough. Gonna buy this again
This is a really good whisky, so flavourful and engaging. One to savour and enjoy…wonderful!
