Glen Scotia 9 Year Old - Campbeltown Malts Festival 2025

Crafted for the 2025 Campbeltown Malts Festival, this limited edition Glen Scotia is a heavily peated single malt that’s had a five-month finishing flourish in Ribera del Duero red wine casks. Just six weeks of the year are dedicated to peated spirit at the distillery, making this a rare treat indeed.

Initially matured in first-fill bourbon barrels, it kicks off with Glen Scotia’s classic coastal charm and creamy vanilla, before the red wine casks dial things up with layers of juicy blackberry, ripe red fruits, and a touch of liquorice. Peat smoke weaves through it all, giving way to a velvety finish that hangs about in all the right ways.

It was bottled non-chill filtered at 54.3% ABV.

    Slightly Disappointed

At 54 % seems too strong . hard to taste it At first as the alcohol hit numbs the mouth After giving it a bit of air gets better To say the least the Peat and red wine influence is unusual ,probably an acquired taste Does have a Long finish
