Reviews for Glen Ranoch
one of my favs...no top shelf collection should be without a bottle..
Auuuccchhh!!! a fine little single malt... some 3 years and more..wow..full of flavor..... the peat.. just enough to take you to Scotland for a moment..paired with your fav cigar or better with your pipe and some Turkish smoking and smoulderin'...enjoyed this one a number of times over the years....amazing light on the fire...nice light finish for me . . . .congrats for the distillers...of WHICH is absolutely unimportant to the end result . . . .an enjoyable affordable single Malt . . .I lift me wee dram to you :Lads

Not my special favourite dram...
Even not as a cheapie... A little bit schnappsy and fruity like some German Obstler or similar. Some malts at Lidl or Aldi are more complex and rewarding and even cheaper...

Wow .. don’t try this ... it’s my hidden secret
Really nice, very cheap whisky. Starts with an apple smell, walnut taste and ends with a sweet taste, very smooth, but don’t tell anyone. At this price it’s just great

Great choice.
Glen Ranoch is the best. It is hidden behind a cheap price, making it unknown in the whiskey world.

Decent
This is an inexpensive scotch...I buy it on sale for as little as $17. It has a "good" aroma and a pleasant taste. It's not particularly smokey or peaty as more expensive scotch, but for the price it's really not that bad.

junk
More like moonshine than whisky

Sucks
Garbage. Tastes like the Canadian whisky version of scotch.

Allied with the nay-sayers
Poor.
Get a Glen Moray Elgin Classic or a Glen Grant Major's Res, instead. Both are better, IMO.
If this was the best single malt I could get, I'd drink gin & tonic.

Wonderful aromas and taste ( for the money:)
Recently discovered this single malt as it had a discount and had to try it ( got it for 15£ a bottle ;) how bad could it be?..I thought to myself....
Being used to GLENCADAM, TOMINTOUL, and having a collection of "sniffers" mainly for the Armagnac brandy I "consume", I could tell you that my first impression was good, the taste is way better than I imagined a single malt for this price could have!
The smell filled the room ( especially because my glass was a little warm ;).
The taste is more toward the Speyside rather than the JURA like taste ( which I personally think is rough and more blended like ....)
Not even close to GLENCADAM! ( the price isn't either :)
I totally agree to "Excellent Value "
Concerning "Not a Real" ... Probably should buy more expensive dishwasher detergent, or another dishwasher because his glass was probably not washed well and had detergent on it ;) .. No offense :)
You should try it.
Cheers!
