Glen Moray Rhum Agricole Cask Finish Project
Glen Moray has been experimenting with some very interesting cask finishes as of late, at this one is particularly exciting indeed - the distillery in Speyside has finished this single malt Scotch whisky in casks that previously held rhum agricole from Martinique for around 24 months! Definitely not something you see every day, though we'd be happy to see more of this sort of thing.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Candied lemon peel, honey, white pepper, toffee apple.
Palate
Slightly grassy at first, though moves into hints of cherry and banana. Still warming and peppery.
Finish
Lingering toasted brown sugar and walnut.
