Single Malt
Glen Moray
Scotland
The central, and entry level release in the Elgin Classic range from Glen Moray distillery. Very easy to drink, this stuff offers up hints of soft citrus and barley.
Light, fresh. Grist. Nutty, floral. Dried grass. Slightly fruity.
Oak, gentle. Well balanced, walnut, grist. Citrus, lemon sponge.
Tangy citrus, spicy fruitcake.
Read quite a few reviews. Some helpful others laughable . Now I'm convinced I must give this a try.
Bought for me Christmas 2016. Waited to drink it now as more whiskey has come my way and I mostly drink wine. Very pleasant surprise- smooth, doesn’t burn, much better than a “double” at the end of the evening in a pub or restaurant. Drink it and enjoy- don’t be too critical.
After drinking Famous Grouse and Monkey Shoulder and liking those, especially Grouse, gave this a try. Sorry, undrinkable for my palate. I'm not sure if it's the peat or what that flavor is, but disgusting.
Like many here, I grabbed this for the price, while suspiciously eyeing the price alongside it's shelfmates. I had also never bought a single malt without its age on the bottle. More room for skepticism. Bottom line, as a casual whisky drinker, I found this neither as foul as the worst reviews here--get over yourself, snobs!--nor as grand as the best. It's whisky, drink it and shut up. You get what you pay for. Everything nowadays has an entry-level product/pricepoint. Usually made in China. Assuming this isn't, we're already ahead of the game. I had some last night, with ice and water. When that didn't suit, I added some more and topped it off with coke. Problem solved.
I`ve never tasted rocket fuel either but if it tastes as nice as this wee whisky, then I say `Lucky Rockets` :-) People have different tastes. Some of the comments on here are over the top.People sometimes do that to make themselves appear experts.
