    Glen Moray Elgin Classic

The central, and entry level release in the Elgin Classic range from Glen Moray distillery. Very easy to drink, this stuff offers up hints of soft citrus and barley.

    Unpleasant medicinal flavour.

There is nothing I can pick out that's good about this whisky. It tastes just like TCP. I honestly don't think I'll be able to finish this whisky which has never happened before.

    Foul. This aint whisky.

Never tried anything like it!. I'm getting a bit of the vanilla it is very light, But when you wash it down it just tastes "medicated" and leaves a "foul" taste in your mouth. So disappointing!!

    Very poor.

Very poor. Harsh, immature spirit, tasting only of smoke, nothing else whatsoever. Left an unpleasant aftertaste in the mouth. May be relatively cheap but not a patch, remotely, on good quality malts regularly on offer for a couple of quid more at the supermarket. Avoid.

If you were expecting a good single malt you’d be disappointed...

Agree totally with the negative reviews below: I like single malts but this has a nasty bitter taste - ‘have also tasted many better blended whiskies. One to avoid.

Mild and mellow single malt offering exceptional value for money

No need to be a snob. This is a great whisky for the price. (around 20 quid a bottle). It definitely benefits from allowing a cube of ice to half-melt which releases more of the flavour. I find it smooth with a nicely rounded caramel flavour to it. I blind tested Glen Moray (a single malt) against a Chivas Regal (a blend) , both of which were Christmas gifts. Sorry to say the Chivas was immediately recognisable as having an industrial alcohol smell and a harsh taste. The Moray on the other hand is very mild and mellow and subtle. It is my new go-to dram, closely followed by J.W. Black (a lovely blend)
