Glen Moray
Scotland
Single Malt
An 18 year old single from Glen Moray's Elgin Heritage range, which is all about approachable, accessible and easily enjoyable whiskies. This particular expression is drawn from first-fill American oak barrels, imparting plenty of vanilla-y tastiness...
Juicy apricot and yellow plum, with a glaze of honey.
Earthy vanilla arrives first, shortly followed by hints of lavender and sultanas.
Lingering notes of ginger and cinnamon.

I don't claim to be an expert but IMO this is very good indeed for the price and great to see an 18 year old single malt bottled at this strength which no doubt will have added to the flavour.
Contrary to popular opinion on whisky, I don’t think whisky continues to get better with age; I prefer a spirit-led dram. Once in the cask for 25, 30, 40 years, its not for me. With that in mind, I must give this a very high score and I enjoyed it very much. Classic Speyside; plenty of fruit, malty, honey, an array of spices and a sympathetic amount of oak. An excellent example.
One of the smoothest drams I had in ages. Soft honey and heather on the palate, not a hint of burn. A truly delightful companion on a quiet evening.
Each to their own , I’m not saying it’s a bad whisky just for the age and price I don’t think it makes the mark.I stand by my 2 stars.
Two stars is harsh, writer, below... I broadly agree that the 15 is the one to go for and the 12 offers the best value, within the range but this is still pretty good. It doesn't represent any significant improvement upon the 15 but the 15 is pretty great! We can debate value but I can't accept 2 stars, so excuse my marking it up, to compensate. Ian
