Glen Moray Chardonnay Bottling Note

Amazingly, this 10 year old Glen Moray was matured for its entire ageing period in chardonnay casks! Rich and surprisingly sweet and buttery, a fabulous little whisky…

Glen Moray 10 Year Old Chardonnay Reviews

Superb elegant budget malt

This is an excellent malt for the money. I'm currently buying it for £22 per bottle. It has a clean and bright taste with a sweetness and slight sharpness from the wine that makes it unusual- a bit of an acquired taste. It is not particularly complex and is very drinkable. I find it similar (ish) to Glen Grant 10, which I slightly prefer. You simply cannot get another 10 year old malt of this standard for £22 (unless Aberlour is on sale in the supermarkets).

One to enjoy

Flavoursome and fruity, a real good drinking whisky and for not a bad price either!

This is my “Go too” drink

I’m 30 years old, and have tried many different kinds of alcoholic beverages, beers, spirits, etc: that being said, this is currently my “go too” alcoholic drink. I like it unmolested, and straight from the bottle. No need for ice or water or worse yet, soda. In my opinion, this is the best value in terms of taste and finish vs cost. I mean let’s face reality, you’re reading this review because you like to drink, whether alone, or with friends, or maybe you’re just a young dad who likes a few drinks to take the edge off at the end of hard day’s work, like myself; either way, you may as well drink humbly with style, and it be something of good quality and a taste you’ll continue to come back too. This is a very, very good Scotch. You won’t be disappointed with this buy. Glen Moray 10 year Chardonnay cask finish. Mmm.

terriffic value

When glen moray can do a 10yr old scotch of this quality and at this price then it makes you realise how much other distillers are ripping us malt lovers off, especially when they just finish their 'special release' NAS for a few months in a different cask and charge an extra £20 for the privilige. While i wont pretend this dram is the best ive ever had, for £26 a bottle it's terriffic value and certainly highly drinkable.

Great Value Age Statement Session Dram

At around £25 a bottle this is an excellent value, easy drinking malt. It's a delicate, sweet & buttery dram that for the money is hard to beat.

Ideal for an everyday drinking malt or a session dram.

Speaking to the folk at Glen Moray, they have removed this from supermarkets so grab it here at a good price.

At this price it's 10/10

tony william

This is a fantastic whisky, truely unique and if someone said it is a 15 or 18 yr old whisky it could easily pass for it. Beautiful aroma and full of flavours leading to a long and slightly smokey finish. I have paid three times the price for whiskies and not been as good as this.

Great at the price

For what this costs it really is very good. Takes a little water but the result is smooth, interesting and fruitier than a Cuban hat!

7th January 2016

Love Scotch

I found it full and fruity with a finish of caramel and spice really smooth but completely lacking any heat. Not one of my favorites of the lesser expensive Single Malts but that's just my opinion still a bourbon cask man and a Glen Moray 12 and 16 fan

Received a bottle as a Christmas gift. Absolutely delicious with a flavour that is clearly single malt but with just that little bit of something different. Highly recommended.

Excellent whisky, my current favourite in the £35-and-under category. Delicate, balanced and complex.

Great Value

Glen Moray is underated in my opinion, it is far more than an entry level. When you consider the quality for what you pay, thats why I gave it four stars. There is nothing not to like about in. This one was far better than I expected.

Very good!

I bought this one out of curiosity and was very impressed, it compares well to Speysides costing £40 and more. Will be buying again.

26th July 2015

Great Value

I liked this far more than I expected. Why people pay more for some brands of blended whisky when you can pick this up for less is hard to believe. I think Glen Moray is far underated.

On offer in Sainsburys - £20

Just bought this as a gift following the good reviews I'd seen plus it's got a fiver off at Sainsburys at the moment (22 Dec 2014).

Very good malt, excellent price with a "must buy another" hook.

Glen moray Chardonnay

excellent dram with a twist diffrent flavour to the norm Paul K

26th October 2014

Nice Dram with a wee twist

excellent dram nice flavour n just a little diffrent from the norm. all in all well worth 20quid when you consider supermarket own brands sell for that

25th October 2014

Delightful find!

Banana, melon, and butterscotch aromas. A strong delightful hit of toffee, almond, and hazelnut on the palate. Smooth and multifaceted finish. Add a tiny splash of water: straight up there's too much of an alcohol kick, but too much water dulls the flavors. A drop or two makes the flavors explode, especially if you let it sit for 5-10 minutes to open up.

28th April 2014

not for me

Very strange nose on it like noting I've ever smelt taste is better but not to impressed with this one

19th February 2014

a surprize

priceworthy, quite comparable to the Glenmorangie Traditional

16th February 2014

Completely different, completely brilliant

The nose is one of a fully oaked chardonnay with the added warmth from the higher alcohol content, the mouth is full, vinous and sweet with a long warming vanilla finish. A "classic" whisky it is not, but at this price it has to be worth anyone's money, IMO.

I'm surprised we haven't seen more of these sorts of bottling's sooner, yes they won't be to everyone's taste but they have the potential to produce excellent results just as this has.

25th January 2014

Not a huge fan

Overly sweet, and very one dimensional. Worth trying for something a little different. But that's probably it.

Smooth as silk, very little burn, looks nice on your shelf. Very happy with it, expression is unique and very enjoyable. Great whisky, great price.
