A 12 year old Glen Grant single malt, launched in mid-2016 with a rather sleek and handsome new bottle design. Still shows off the classic Glen Grant style - honey'd malt, sugared almond and ripe apple notes galore!
Orchard fruits open it up, with orange and apple. A touch of pastry and a dusting of icing sugar.
More rich, sweet red apple notes. Golden barley in the background.
Touches of almonds last on the finish.

I have tried different Scotch from 10 years to 21-year-old From $19.99 - $159.00 and this is an awesome smooth S.W. from Speyside. No peat but smooth great drinking Scotch. I picked up a bottle at Vons for $24.99. WOW, what a G8 value. Smooth and warm good for the new Scotch drinker. Or seasoned S.D. that wants a smooth surprise!!!
To strong taste of alcohol that stops most of the other flavours coming through, very weak colour, my Mrs got me the bottle in Italy on the way home from holiday so maybe has something to do with poor quality
A wonderful whisky! Fabulous fruity flavours, complexity, and very quaffable. The tasting notes from MoM are pretty accurate. The nose opens with apple strudel, while candied orange develops and layers over the top. The fruity notes continue on the initial palate, with oak developing through the mid. The finish is medium/long with sweet marzipan giving way to a dryness closer to roasted hazelnuts.
I feel a whole lot more like I do now than I did yesterday.
This Whiskey is pretty much what I was expecting. Good all around Whiskey for the price. I can't say I am as partial to this 12 year old as some others like Glenlivet. But this is definitely worth the money. Good budget scotch with a pretty good taste.
