A rich, tasty Glen Grant distilled in July 1985 and aged in wine-finished barrel for 25 years before bottling in February of 2011 at natural cask strength for Douglas Laing's Old and Rare Platinum Selection.
Nose: Rose petals, vanilla and bitter orange marmalade. Notes, too, of walnut, dates, figgy pudding and a little dill.
Palate: Herbal and spiced, with notes of stem ginger, black pepper, lemon zest, salty butter and marmalade.
Finish: Good length, slightly salty with notes of toasted barley and barrel char.
