Released in 2010, Glen Garioch's new 12 year old is matured in both bourbon and sherry casks, and it has loads of character, as well as being bottled at the sensible strength of 48%...
Hey, Its an ;integrity' bottling, 48% very nice. But. It's really not that exciting. I heard lots of great things about this, but in my humble opinion, Bunnahabhain and Deanston, for example, offer more interest and complexity for £10 less a bottle. Smell is mild glue and dry sherry. Taste is raw spirit, barley, and burnt sugars from the direct fired stills. Perfectly decent and entirely forgettable. Really striggling to say much more than that. For £50+, buy the above or any Delord brandy!
For the money this is a fantastic whisky, and one of my favourite 12 year olds! Great flavours and so very easy to drink. As already mentioned, a very underrated whisky.
somehow this standard OB seems overlook and not receiving enough love. One of the best all-rounder 12 yo out there. - @thewhiskymural
Nice whisky, reasonable price
Much overlooked whisky. In my humble opinion it joins the list of tried and tested gems in the whisky world and I will be buying another bottle soon to be part of my modest whisky collection.
