“No idea about the other reviews saying its harsh or rough. Sure its not got those wonderfully described ' nose' or exciting palate but Its a great value , well balanced Whisky. We have had loads of this over past 3 or 4 years. A winner ! ”

Description
1797 Founder's Reserve is the new offering from Glen Garioch (pronounced Glen 'Geery').
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Lively, oily, slightly peppery malt. Some creamy Danish Blue balanced by hints of citrus including lime and grapefruit squash.
Palate
Chocolate lime sweets and brandy butter. With water there's more allspice, dessert wine, barley malt and cured ham.
Finish
Oak, some subtle smoke, green apple skin and more chocolate limes.
Overall
A character-filled no age-statement release named in celebration of Glen Garioch's co-founders the Manson Brothers. But wait... wouldn't that make it either "Founders' Reserve" (or "Founders Reserve")?!
