1797 Founder's Reserve is the new offering from Glen Garioch (pronounced Glen 'Geery').
Lively, oily, slightly peppery malt. Some creamy Danish Blue balanced by hints of citrus including lime and grapefruit squash.
Chocolate lime sweets and brandy butter. With water there's more allspice, dessert wine, barley malt and cured ham.
Oak, some subtle smoke, green apple skin and more chocolate limes.
A character-filled no age-statement release named in celebration of Glen Garioch's co-founders the Manson Brothers. But wait... wouldn't that make it either "Founders' Reserve" (or "Founders Reserve")?!

Quite a find! A delightful contrast to the shocking peatiness of my beginning glass of Ardbeg 10. No 1 and 2 for me in affordable single malts. We in St Louis are fortunate to have the Wine and Cheese stores, with the flagship featuring 400 different single malt scotches! At unbeatable prices locally.
Good stuff from Grampian, nae bother!;)
Bought this product at World Duty Free Gatwick North Terminal on 12/04/2014 and paid £40.99. So much for so called duty free prices!
I had a sample of this at Molly Macphersons in Savannah. A great sipping drink with a light sweetness and a hint of dry.
