Girvan 27 Year Old 1989 (cask 12191) - Old Particular (Douglas Laing)
An indie bottling of single grain from the Girvan distillery in South Ayrshire, aged for 27 years in a single refill hogshead cask. It was distilled in December 1989 and set aside to age until November 2017, when Douglas Laing came along to bottle it up for their Old Particular range, with only 148 bottles produced.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Sponge cake, spearmint, stroopwafel and coffee.
Palate
Thick and unctuous, with notes of honey, oak and dark chocolate.
Finish
Cinnamon, caramel and a drop of apple juice.
