Although you may know it for the Forest Gin, the Forest Distillery has created a rather interesting whisky. They've blended malt whiskies aged for at least eight years and then finished it in an old Oloroso sherry cask. This delightful liquid was then bottled into rather stunning black porcelain bottles, adorned with a papercut by artist Georgia Low, glazed with real gold!
Bucketfuls of chocolate, marzipan, rich fudge and sweet lemon.
A sweet delight, think banana split pudding and meringue, more decadent chocolate and toffee, with buttery apricot tarts in support. Sweetness is balanced by black pepper and baking spices with a touch of fresh rosemary.
An earthy finish, notes of petrichor and malty cornflake notes, with chocolate returning once again.
I'm not a gin drinker, but have heard great things about their gin products. Therefore, I was excited to get the first of these when they launched the whisky. I was not expecting much from their first release, but wow - it is beautiful. From the black and gold bottle to the liquid itself, this is great stuff
Loved the gin for years, I’m new to drinking whisky but love this one! Lots of flavour and not too strong- just perfect for me.
What an absolute triumph this is!! Can’t wait for the next release x
Clever marketing but lacks flavour and Is the poorest whiskey I’ve tasted in years .
