Forest Gin

Forest Gin is family-created small batch gin, produced by Lindsay and Karl Bond. To make it, they steep some classic gin botanicals (including organic juniper berries and coriander seeds) in organic grain spirit. They then take a pestle and mortar to bundles of botanicals which they forage from the Macclesfield Forest when they can - this includes wild bilberries, gorse flowers, raspberries and local moss, among others. This is distilled through their own copper condenser and blended with local spring water to bring it down to 42% ABV.

The distinctive English Porcelain bottles feature a screen-printed design by Suzy Taylor of a weasel among the flora of the forest. Weasels are awesome. This is a fact.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Fragrant and forest-y, earthy moss kicks things off, swiftly followed by subtle fruity notes, liquorice and a burst of cinnamon, with lingering piney juniper.

Reviews for Forest Gin
Outstandingly Fresh and clean
I bought this for my wife for Christmas 2021. I chose Forest gin based on the small batch production and seemingly close and personal attention to detail. I also love that this Gin is produced by a family owned business. Further, the bottle is beautiful.

Taste wise, it is a very very clean and bright tasting gin, almost pure, without any overwhelming botanical notes. If you like the more flamboyant and flavoured gins Forest gin probably won’t satisfy your tastes, but if you prefer clean, bright and purer tasting gins, this is simply beautiful.

Great taste and interesting story
Went on the distillery tour this weekend. An interesting 2 hr. experience and good value for money at £20 with plenty to gin and whiskey to try ( 2x Gin and 2xWhiskey).
This is a very small operation and the actual tour only only takes about 15mins as the process is contained in one room.
Serving the Dry Gin with rosemary and grapefruit makes a real difference and the spiced orange mixer with the earl grey turns it to a great cocktail.

Overrated and expensive
Nothing special at all and certainly not worth nearly 50 quid!
