Nose: Malt Extract, Sesame Thins and thick, rich turbinado sugar. Complexity that belies its years.
Palate: Sweet palate entry, green apple with caramelised brown sugar. Classic Tarte Tatin.
Finish: Tarte Tatin fades into Creme Brûlée, with just a suggestion of old oak.
Overall: A serious surprise from this distillery, perhaps unfairly famed for not regularly producing excellence. Goes to show... the cask maketh the dram.
