A classic in every sense of the word, this Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey from Evan Williams is a favourite of back bars around the world. In accordance with Bottled-in-Bond regs, this is at least four years old, from a single season, and bottled at a higher ABV than the regular Evan Williams. Punching way above its price class, this is a favourite of ours, displaying immaculate balance with sweetness, black pepper and cinnamon spice.
Candied sweetness, with caramelised nuts, vanilla, cinnamon, and subtle oak.
Toasted cereal, cornbread, and peanut brittle join baking spices and vanilla. Rich rum and raisin develop in time, with chocolate and cracked black pepper.
Long and drying, with marzipan, fudge, peppery warmth, and sweet buttered corn.

The prev review below is spot on: Without water: HOT! The hottest 100 proof BiB I ever tasted, quite a bite on the ol' tongue and it masked whatever flavor it gave. I usually like over-proof whiskeys, but this one was a tad aggressive, even for me, so I added a tablespoon of water. With Water, some good things happened: A rich, toffee, cinnamon taste and you have a clear sense of the casks in the finish, with some citrus fruit also. Very nice for the price.
Very "juicy" and enjoyable. Balanced, smooth, a little bit of a bite (wich I like), slight salty caramel, "nutty", hints of cherry, vanilla, raisins, apricot/orange marmelade, maybe some herbal notes aswell. Great quality for the price.
What a great whisky, and what a great price. I love my expensive single malts, and can afford them. But, I still enjoy Evan b&b and think it has a great taste. If all I could afford was evan I wouldn't feel bad. Good stuff.
Absolutely delicious! Intense wood, caramel, pecan flavours-superb!
Fantastic.
