Kentucky straight rye whiskey from Elijah Craig, with a mash bill of 51% rye, 35% corn, and 14% barley. Expect plenty of baking spices and black pepper, with buttery sweetness from the corn.
Wanted to try a Rye and decided that this one will be it and I wasn’t disappointed, flavoursome and long, only problem is that the bottle doesn't last long
I wanted to venture into the world of American Bourbon and reading some reviews, the Elijah Craig kept getting mentioned. I tried the Small Batch Kentucky Straight Bourbon and thought it was good. The more I drank it, the more I liked it, so decided to venture deeper, so I bought the Straight Rye version and WOW! So sweet and so much flavour. Great on the nose. This will definitely be put into my favourites
I have discovered my tastes are for Belgian triple’s, English LBV’s and Rye. i have tried bulleit, woodfords, michters, the usual culprits, but I came to this late, and I have got to say it’s a fresh clean revelation. Almost a sweet citrus with a vanilla note. For me, this is a new go to, it really is a cracker.
