A 12 year old Ballechin (peated single malt from Edradour) bottled for La Maison du Whisky as part of a trilogy of different maturations. This one spent its 12 years in a hogshead that previously held peated whisky.
Roasted nutty malt, lime, vanilla, stewed fruit and star anise.
A similar story with mixed peels, custard, green apple and vegetal smoke.
Barley, nuts, dried grass and gentle smoke.
Was really good easy to drink. Mild peat, not a peat monster. Less peat than the 10. This is so smooth I almost like the 10 better for the youth. But this is fine stuff.
