A cask-finished Edradour, what a treat! Distilled back in 2000, the Highlander was first aged in bourbon casks. Before it was bottled, it was transferred to casks which previously held Barolo wine for a 46 month finishing period. Finally, it was bottled at 18 years old at cask strength, 56.5% ABV. Lots of oak and fruity wine influence in this lovely single malt.
Freshly brewed mint tea, with lemon tart, apricot and a distinct petrichor aroma.
Tart berries and stewed orchard fruits, with salted caramel, toasty oak and floral honey.
Dry oak with a splash of maple syrup.
