Edradour is one of Scotland's smallest distilleries and at the heart of the range, this 10 year old Eastern Highlander is a rather unique single malt, a decidedly rum-like dram with a thick mouthfeel. The distillery’s methods of production remain virtually unchanged in the last 150 years, and we can see why. If it ain’t broke and all that. This single malt’s decade of ageing was spent in a combination of oloroso sherry and bourbon casks.
Medium, great complexity. Thoroughly fruity, sherry, sweetness, alluring vanilla.
Cloying, seductive murkiness. Rum, barley, toasted almonds.
Spiced fruitcake with crème anglaise.
If you make your way to the highlands you must visit Pitlochry to tour the Edradour distillery. There is no better way to really know a whisky than to see and smell it being made, and taste it with the maker.
Been drinking this for 20 years, have tried so many others even at twice the price doesn't touch the rich smoothness is Edradour!!
Mhmhmhmh ottimo assaporarlo lentamente dopo averlo lasciato riposare nel bicchiere, melodia di sapori....ottimo.
My go to favorite day in and day out. Has uniqueness and quality that outshines most 12 and 15 yr competitors.
Let it sit for a bit after pouring, and add a drop or two of water. (But no more than that!)
