Peated single malt from the Edradour distillery, released under their Ballechin name and bottled for their Straight From The Cask range. This particular bottling was aged for 12 years in a single Burgundy wine cask, from January 2004 to March 2017. 404 bottles were produced.
Nose: Fruity sweetness (almost Armagnac-like) at first, with slowly growing waves of earthy smoke.
Palate: Cherries, forest floor, honey'd cereal, oatcakes and dark chocolate.
Finish: Oily oak and peat smoke.
