One of two inguinal release from The Library Collection, a series of independent bottlings from Edinburgh Whisky Ltd. This is a 15 year old Highland park, matured in a first fill bourbon barrel from March 2000 to June 2015, when it was bottled with a outturn of 257 bottles.
Classic Highland Park smokiness opens this one, with notes of vanilla and white fruit growing in the background.
Smoke isn't quite as pronounced on the palate, giving way to more apple, pear and raisin notes.
Dark chocolate and peat.
Rich flavour, soft starting and robust in finish.
Its quite special when you find single cask expression of HP this good, I think I got the last bottle hope they get their hands on some more.
Sweet with plenty of honey, vanilla and pineapple flavor. I miss the smoke on the finish, maybe the first fill bourbon took over the spirit to much.
