One of a trio of whiskies released by the East London Liquor Company in late 2019, this is a fascinating bottling of its London Rye, which was matured in a combination of peated and Pedro Ximénez casks. You've got subtle smoky heat from the peated casks complementing the spiciness of the rye, with fruity sweetness of the Pedro Ximénez casks adding a delicious juxtaposition. Very exciting stuff.
Lots of toffee, with dark chocolate raisins, oaky vanilla and liquorice.
Almond butter, tobacco, blackcurrant jam, honey and chocolate-covered peanuts.
Oak char, with root ginger, blackberry jam and treacle.
